Nicole Scherzinger has reflected on her time performing with The Pussycat Dolls.

While speaking to People for an interview published on Thursday, the former Pussycat Dolls member recalled working with the girl group from 2003 to 2010. She said she was proud to be the voice behind most of the group's musical work.

"I always used to be made to feel like . . . I don't know, not ashamed, but . . . I'm very proud that the albums are my music. I put the work in after all these years, and that's OK that I have the credit because everybody has their own strengths," Nicole, 45, told the outlet. "And this is what I bring to the table."

Having reunited with the group in 2020 to release one more album, before splitting again in 2021, Nicole said she "only wishes them the best".

The girl group formed in the early 2000s as a burlesque act before choreographer Robin Antin scored them a record deal and hired Nicole as lead singer. She was later joined by dancers Kimberly Wyatt, Melody Thornton, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, and Jessica Sutta.

"Our group was never set up like the Spice Girls. Our group was set up where I would be the quarterback, and I would lead us," Nicole continued in her interview. "The girls are extremely strong, talented dancers, and I had to work hard to be able to stand next to them."

After releasing their 2005 debut single Don't Cha, The Pussycat Dolls dropped two albums and scored eight Top 40 singles. They released React after briefly reuniting in 2020 and planned to tour, but were delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic and eventually scrapped the plan following a legal dispute between Nicole and Robin.
