Jessie J has left Republic Records following a 17-year professional relationship.

The Price Tag singer, 35, took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal her decision to break with the New York label.

"After 17 years I have decided to leave Republic Records," she told her 14 million followers. "I was about six months pregnant when I made this decision."

Jessie continued, "Monte and Avery Lipman, and Jason Flom have been so gracious and kind in supporting my decision and letting me go. It's been honestly the most amazingly high and low ride of my life."

The star called Republic "the best record label in the world" before sharing that she had to be "honest" with herself and her career.

"Being signed just doesn't sit with that now," she confessed, before quipping, "So now I am unemployed!"

Jessie signed to Republic in 2009 and released some of her biggest hits via the label, including the 2011 hits Price Tag and Domino.
