Soul diva and success story of 2000, Macy Gray, is among the many stars who have penned tracks for veteran rocker Rod Stewart's next album.

Gray has written a song entitled 'Smitten' and it's thought it will feature on Stewart's forthcoming long-player 'Human', which is scheduled for release in March.

Elsewhere on the album there are tracks by the former New Radical singer/songwriter Gregg Alexander, who has previously written chart hits for the likes of Texas, Ronan Keating and the Mercury nominated Helicopter Girl.

All Saints producer and co-songwriter, K-Gee, has written the album's title track with Connor Reeves.

It'll be the first offering by Rod Stewart in five years and look out for the first single, 'I Can't Deny It', which has been penciled in for an early New Year release.
