August Alsina has agreed with Jada Pinkett Smith's use of the word 'entanglement' to describe their 'complex and difficult' relationship.

The actress recently sat down with her husband, Will Smith, for a candid chat about their marriage on an explosive instalment of her Red Table Talk show, during which she confessed to embarking on a romance with Alsina during a secret separation around 2016.

In an interview with Vulture, singer August addressed the attention surrounding the use of the word 'entanglement', insisting he doesn't "know why that word is such an issue."

"I would agree (with Jada). If you look up the definition of 'entanglement,' it is a complex and difficult relationship. It was exactly that," the 27-year-old explained.

August went on to reflect that the peculiarity of the language "probably stuck out to people," sharing: "But I definitely have to agree with it being an entanglement. It definitely was something complicated, a complicated dynamic."

When asked if he had seen Jada and Will's Red Table Talk episode, titled Jada Brings Herself to the Table, August admitted that he had only seen a few "small clips on Instagram."

"I have people who've seen it. I saw small clips floating on Instagram and kinda backed off Instagram," he said, "But it's definitely been brought to my attention by people around me."
