Broadway star Nick Corderos health has taken a turn for the good after doctors amputated his leg on Saturday.

The 41-year-old actor and singer's wife, Amanda Kloots, revealed her husband would be losing his leg after suffering a series of blood clot issues that were hampering his recovery from COVID-19, and on Sunday she jumped on Instagram to update fans.

Explaining that Nick was "doing good", Kloots added: "He’s doing the best he possibly can. Surgery went well. He’s recovering well after surgery. His blood pressure is okay. His heart is okay.

"His internal bleeding has come down. Everything seems to be calmed down which is so great because this has been such a roller coaster."

On Saturday, she revealed Cordero would be losing his right leg due to coronavirus complications.

"We got some difficult news yesterday," Kloots said in a video update. "We took him off the blood thinners, but that again was going to cause the clotting in the right leg, so the right leg will be amputated today."

The news came two days after Kloots suggested she was unsure her husband would ever be able to walk again due to "blood flow issues" in his leg.

That update came days after Cordero underwent emergency surgery when doctors found an infection in his lung.
