Dove Cameron ignored her ex-fiance Ryan McCartan's cheating claims as she shared a message of positivity with fans on her Instagram Stories on Thursday night.

Ryan hit headlines earlier on Thursday when he shared a candid post on the social media site, in which he alleged she had cheated on him.

"Within two weeks, my fiancee cheated on and left me, I almost died from food poisoning, and Donald Trump was elected president," he wrote in response to a fan's question about his proudest moment. "I truly didn't think I would be able to make it through that part of my life. I'm proudest of the light that came from that darkness, and my ability to survive and turn the anger and sadness I had into positive life changes and a new way forward."

Later in the evening, Dove posted her own message, although she didn't comment on Ryan's allegations as she expressed her positive outlook for the coming year.

"This new decade, 2020 specifically, and my 24th year feels so synergistic and perfect, I can't even put it into words," she wrote. "It's been years since I've felt this good, this capable, this strong and this connected, in general and in terms of my relationship with myself. I've been so disillusioned and lost, so dark and so sad, and I only now feel like I'm beginning to find the magic again. That place where I'm not afraid of what used to leave me frozen in agonising fear, where I can finally feel safe to lean on only myself and be whole and complete within my own skin

"It has been, and will continue to be a long road with the work solely in my own hands, and I always leave room for more growth and connection with my higher self (and therapy) but I suddenly feel 'it' again. Something old, but something new. The difference in energy is staggering. This is fresh. I feel like I'm ready to start showing up for life again."

Dove and Ryan met on the set of Disney show Liv and Maddie in 2013, and announced plans to wed in the spring of 2016 - before parting ways just six months later.
