Demi Lovato is to continue her return to acting by appearing in a recurring role in Will & Grace.

The 27-year-old first found fame starring in children's television series Barney & Friends, before being cast in Disney Channel movie Camp Rock and its sequel. She then went on to launch her hugely successful singing career, before taking time out after reportedly suffering an opioid overdose in 2018.

As part of her comeback, she's landed a role in Will Ferrell's new Netflix satire Eurovision, and will now guest star in three episodes in the 11th and final season of the hit sitcom.

Demi's role as Jenny, a "tough, guarded woman who comes into Will's life in an unexpected way" in the NBC show was revealed on the U.S. network's breakfast news show Today on Tuesday.

Will & Grace, which follows the lives and loves of its title characters, Will Truman, a successful gay lawyer, and his best friend and roommate Grace Adler, debuted in 1998. The show came to an end in 2006, before being resurrected for three more seasons in 2017.

Further details of the Cool for the Summer singer's role are yet to be announced.
