Singer Willow Smith is keen to be part of a loved-up threesome after her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, confessed to taking part in a menage et trois on the family talk show.

Willow seemed more than a little disturbed when her mum initially revealed she'd had a threesome in her early 20s, but now the young singer/actress admits she's down to be part of a "polyamorous throuple".

Sharing her feelings on the Facebook series Red Table Talk on Monday (24Jun19), the 18 year old revealed she became curious after she started following a polyamorous throuple on Instagram and researching the unconventional relationship.

"I feel like I could be polyfidelitous with those two people," Willow said. "I'm not the kind of person that is constantly looking for new sexual experiences.

"I focus a lot on the emotional connection and I feel like if I were to find two people of the different genders that I really connected with and we had a romantic and sexual connection, I don't feel like I would feel the need to try to go find more... I love men and women equally. I'd want one man, one woman. I could do it."

Jada had no problem with Willow's plans, telling her, "Whatever makes you happy."

But her grandmother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, who co-hosts the show with her daughter and granddaughter, was not OK with the idea of Willow being part of a threesome, stating, "I would not be excited about that. It doesn't sit well with me, I don't understand this emotional commitment."

As the three ladies discussed the topic, Jada revealed she "could do a throuple", adding, "I could probably be romantically engaged with somebody else, but I can only have sex with one person. I'm sexually monogamous..."

Her mother then clarified her comments, revealing a three-way relationship was "off putting" to her, adding, "It's not for me. I don't have to think about it. No. Maybe if I was younger."

The episode featured the trio chatting to two women and a man who are involved in a healthy three-way relationship.
