Post Malone and Snoop Dogg have become the latest rappers to mourn the loss of Mac Miller following his death from a suspected drug overdose on Friday (07Sep18).

The 26-year-old MC's passing sent shockwaves through the music industry, with Chance The Rapper, Juicy J, Shawn Mendes, and Charlie Puth among the first to share their heartbreak online after Miller hit headlines.

Now Post Malone, who survived a car crash in Los Angeles in the early hours of Friday, two weeks after he was involved in an emergency plane landing scare, has taken to Twitter to express his frustration at the tragic news.

"God f**king d**mit," he began. "You were such an incredible person. You changed so many lives. Had so much love in your heart. You inspired me throughout highschool (sic), and I wouldn't be where I was today without you. Never a more kind and sincere and beautiful person. I f**king love you mac (sic)."

He also revealed they had planned to work together on a collaborative album, adding, "We'll make that album one day bubba. Miss you so much."

Snoop Dogg also paid tribute to Miller, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, by sharing a clip of the pair in 2013 horror spoof Scary Movie 5.

"So sad u gone home young Mac (sic)," he tweeted. "I had to post this to smile and think about the good Time we had on the set of this movie man god bless ya family (sic). Pittsburg (sic) we lost a real one today @macmiller".

Meanwhile, hip-hop star J. Cole, who had remembered Miller as a "great soul", returned to social media to urge other struggling artists to get in touch if they need someone to talk to.

"This is a message for anybody in this game that's going through something," he posted. "If you don't feel right, if you feel you have a substance problem, if you need a ear to vent to. If you uncomfortable talking to people around you. Please reach out to me (sic)."

Further tributes also poured in from Solange Knowles, rapper Logic, and Missy Elliott, who wrote, "I'm so saddened to hear about @MacMiller such a kind spirit Sending prayers for strength for his family & friends & fans during this difficult time".

Miller's ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande, has yet to comment on the shock death. They split in May (18) after dating for two years, and she quickly moved on to romance comedian Pete Davidson, who she is now engaged to marry.
