Ariana Grande's brother Frankie plans to join the bridal party for her wedding to Pete Davidson as "gay of honour".

Like Ariana, who made her red carpet debut with her fiance, Frankie attended the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Monday (20Aug18) and spoke to Entertainment Tonight about his plans to be with his sister on her big day.

"I'm just so excited that we get to have this amazing celebration and I get to be a part of it, obviously," the 35-year-old reality TV star said. "I'm excited. I'm excited for her and I'm excited for Pete. I think its going to be wonderful. I'm definitely in the bridal party. We're sorting out everything as of now, but I'll definitely be the 'gay of honour.'"

Ariana, 25, and the Saturday Night Live funnyman's whirlwind romance has stunned fans - as the couple announced their engagement just weeks after they went public as a couple.

Frankie isn't worried things are moving too fast between Pete and his sister though as he believes he will make her very happy.

"Listen, my sister's super happy, so I approve," the former Celebrity Big Brother U.K. contestant said of their engagement. "As long as she's happy, then I approve."

Ariana and her husband-to-be appeared on the VMAs red carpet in in New York and smiled as they walked hand in hand and posed for photographers. The pop star sang her hit God Is a Woman at the ceremony - stealing the show with a performance that referenced Leonardo da Vinci's famous depiction of Jesus in his mural The Last Supper.

Her most emotional moment of the night came when she accepted the Best Pop Video prize and gushed over her fiance, saying: "Pete Davidson, thanks for existing. Thank you."

The 24-year-old comedian paid his own touching tribute to his bride-to-be by wearing a bracelet adorned with the letters 'AGD' - which will be Ariana's initials after their marriage as she has said she will take the name Ariana Grande-Davidson.
