Pink has apologised to her fans after cancelling a third concert in Sydney, Australia following her hospitalisation with a stomach virus.

The singer, real name Alecia Beth Moore, postponed the first of her Beautiful Trauma World Tour shows in the city last week (ends05Aug18) after battling an upper respiratory tract infection and later axed performances on the following Monday and Tuesday after being admitted, discharged and re-admitted to hospital with a gastric virus.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the Raise Your Glass hitmaker reached out to thank her fans for their support as she continues to battle the lingering illness.

"Hi beautiful Sydney people. First, I want to say thank you to all of the kind people out there for your well wishes for my speedy recovery," the 38-year-old wrote alongside an image of the iconic Sydney Opera House.

"On Monday, we were absolutely planning on going ahead with the show, and about 20 minutes before I left for soundcheck, I was rushed to the hospital, in excruciating pain. That was the reason for the late cancellation. It was out of anyone’s control, and of course, wasn’t planned that way," she continued. "I was discharged from hospital last night, and am following doctors orders of liquids and rest."

The singer went on to reference how physically demanding her shows are and reiterated the need for her to be at optimum physical health in order to deliver a worthwhile performance.

Confirming that her next show on Saturday will be going ahead, she insisted she will be spending the remaining time "drinking green tea and spending time with my kids" and gave a small dig at the paparazzi, who previously snapped photos of her laying on a beach in Byron Bay after cancelling the first Sydney show.

"That’s a warning to paparazzi, you might actually see me walking upright outside of my hotel room cage with two little children, and another warning: I might even smile. Not too much, though. I’ll try to control the smiling," she quipped.
