Kim Kardashian has been accused of wearing 'blackface' after posting a series of Instagram posts in which fans claim she has intentionally darkened her skin tone.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took to the social media platform on Wednesday (25Jul18) to promote her cosmetics line KKW Beauty and its new Classic Collection by sharing two striking images of herself wearing the products which some fans slammed as "insulting".
The reality star quickly came under fire for "offending black people" with the posts, after she was accused of editing the images in order to significantly darken her skin tone and to plump her already-pillowy pout.
They also slammed the make-up mogul for "not learning a thing" from similar backlash in 2017, which ensued over almost identical claims when she unveiled the official campaign shots for her KKW Beauty line.
"BLACK FACE AT ITS FINEST!!! Stop! This is the second time you’re offending black ppl," exclaimed one angry fan, while another wrote: "Your lips and complexion are insulting."
Others added: "It’s inappropriate!! Stop!!!" and: "You’re not black homie! (sic)."
Kim, 37, was forced to apologise last year after fans noticed her sporting a dramatically darker complexion in promotional images for her make-up line and called the star out for going overboard with the editing.
The mum-of-three told fans she hadn't intended to offend anyone and had been "really tan" when they shot the images, but her team later "adapted" the shots.
“I would obviously never want to offend anyone,” she told the New York Times. “I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off.”
