Justin Bieber marked Easter Sunday (01Apr18) by crediting his Christian faith for turning his life around.

The Sorry singer, who regularly visits the Hillsong Church and is close friends with pastor Carl Lentz, marked the religious holiday, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, by reminding his fans that Easter means more than chocolates and bunnies.

"Jesus has changed my life. Easter is not about a bunny, it's a reminder that my Jesus died on the cross for my sins and then rose from the dead defeating death," he wrote in a note posted on Instagram.

"I believe this happened and it changes everything. I am set free from bondage and shame. I am a child of the most high God and he loves me exactly where I am, how am, for who I am."

The 24-year-old then lightened the mood by sharing a series of a selfies in which he posed with a soft white rabbit while wearing rabbit-themed white sunglasses, complete with ears and whiskers.

"Remember when i said easter isnt about bunnies... well i lied (sic)," he joked in one caption.

Justin's post comes shortly after it was reported that he's changing his music to better reflect his commitment to his religion for his upcoming fifth album.

"Justin is on the lookout for songs which really reflect where he is in his life in terms of spirituality," a source told British newspaper The Sun. "He has always been religious but the last two years have seen him grow closer to the Hillsong Church and it has changed his entire life. He has a totally different outlook now."
