Blake Shelton has given an injured fan an early Christmas gift by inviting him and his girlfriend to any show they can get to in 2017 - for a meet and greet.

The country singer was moved by a Facebook letter Jonathan Daniels sent him after he and his girlfriend Lindsay were forced to miss a gig in Brooklyn, New York in October (16) following a motorbike accident.

Daniels was in hospital at the time, fighting for his life, and Lindsay never left his side.

The biker is now on the road to recovery after doctors initially told his family and loved ones to expect the worst, and in early November (16) he posted a plea to Blake to help him plan a thank you for his girl.

He wrote: "I was just hoping maybe you would see this letter and help me give her the birthday present she deserves. All she wants is to see you in concert. It would just make her day and make her smile which is all I want to do!"

It took a month to get to the Honey Bee singer, but he has now responded in a video message.

"I'm very sorry about the accident and I hope you recover soon and you’re feeling better," Shelton says. "Obviously I'm totally ready to give you tickets to whatever show you can make it to, and don’t rush, for God’s sake, take your time getting well and getting ready."

He then added, "I got to meet you guys."

Daniels suffered two collapsed lungs, a punctured lung, brain-bleeding, and a lacerated liver, kidney, and spleen in the bike accident. He also fractured three ribs, eight vertebrae in his neck and back, and fractured both shoulder blades.

He and his girlfriend will be planning a very special date night when Blake returns to the road for the Doin’ It to Country Songs Tour with RaeLynn, which kicks off in February (17).
