Black Eyed Peas rapper Taboo was shocked to learn his wife was pregnant with his fourth child following his battle with testicular cancer.

The rapper opened up about his secret battle with stage 2 testicular cancer earlier this week (beg14Nov16), revealing he was diagnosed in 2014. The 41-year-old underwent surgery to remove his testicle and was subsequently given the news he was cancer-free.

Following his treatment, Taboo, real name Jaime Luis Gomez, and his wife Jaymie started to make plans to expand their family, but they were told it would be extremely difficult.

"My wife and I decided to try and have another child and went to a fertility doctor, who said that it might be impossible," he tells People magazine.

The couple opted to forego fertility treatments and instead try naturally, and Taboo was shocked when Jaymie fell pregnant within a month and they welcomed their fourth child, a daughter, in February (16).

"Our daughter is a miracle baby, and having time with her and my sons means everything to me - they're why I kept fighting," she says.

And the rapper wants to keep fighting to inspire others fighting cancer - he has teamed up with organisers at the American Cancer Society for a campaign called The Fight, releasing a new track, called Fight, which he wrote during his health battle.

"I had chemo brain and kept fading in and out, but my team kept me focused because they knew how important it was," he continues.

"I've been cancer-free for over two years, but the real battle isn't over," he adds. "There are millions going through things like this and I want to remind them that we don't curl up into a ball when we have a trial or tribulation. We get up and fight."
