Deacon Blue have announced a 15-date tour across the UK and Ireland in October 2027 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Raintown. The shows will feature the iconic 1987 record performed live in full, alongside a secondary set drawing from the band's extensive catalogue. Tickets for the tour go on sale at 9am BST on 18 September 2026 via Live Nation.
Reflecting on the milestone, frontman Ricky Ross said, “When we made our first record none of us imagined there would be an audience still wanting to hear it played live forty years on. To recreate the songs and the atmosphere of that debut album will be a great joy for us. Although each night will feature Raintown as the first part of the concert, the second act will include songs from all our albums and we aim to make each night a unique experience. We are thrilled you are all still there to be part of another adventure and we are excited about coming to a city near you in 2027.”
Raintown introduced fans to timeless classics such as "Dignity," "When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring)," "Loaded," and "Chocolate Girl." Now certified Platinum, it laid the foundation for a career that includes over seven million record sales, twelve UK Top 40 singles, and two Number One albums in When The World Knows Your Name and Our Town. The band’s strong chart presence has continued straight through to their recent release The Great Western Road, which reached Number 3 in the UK charts.
The anniversary tour begins on 6 October 2027 at Belfast’s O2 Arena, before heading to Dublin, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Nottingham, Newcastle, Cardiff, Brighton, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Manchester, and London. The run finishes with major Scottish dates at Aberdeen’s P&J Live on 27 October and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 29 October.
