The 100 Club has announced two special 50th anniversary shows to mark half a century since the historic 100 Club Punk Special. Presented alongside George Cox and Marshall, the celebratory events will take place on 20 and 21 September 2026 at the legendary Oxford Street venue.
The original two-night festival in September 1976 served as the catalyst for the UK punk revolution, featuring unsigned performances by The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Damned, Buzzcocks, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Now recognized as the world’s longest-running continuous live music venue, The 100 Club is commemorating that cultural turning point by showcasing how the punk spirit continues to evolve today.
Irish rock group Sprints will headline the first night on 20 September. Known for their high-energy live performances and acclaimed albums Letter To Self and All That Is Over, the appearance offers fans a rare opportunity to see the band in an intimate setting.
Headlining the second night on 21 September is Manchester-based outfit Maruja, following the release of their debut album Pain To Power. The band expressed their pride in honoring the historic movement and bringing their experimental, genre-defying sound to the famed venue. Full supporting lineups for both nights will be revealed on 19 September.
Speaking about the anniversary, venue owner Jeff Horton highlighted punk as one of the UK’s most vital subcultures, noting that the 2026 lineup reflects the distinct values, music, and ethos that set the genre apart. In the spirit of accessibility, tickets for both nights are priced at the original 1976 cost of £1.50.
The event is supported by footwear brand George Cox, whose iconic creepers were integral to punk style, and audio powerhouse Marshall. Managing Director of George Cox, Jake Willmore, and Marshall's Director of Culture Marketing, Steph Carter, both emphasized the importance of honoring the club's independent history while championing new voices.
