Marmozets have officially unveiled their brand-new single, "Closer To You," marking an immediate and life-affirming continuation of their recent creative resurgence. The track arrives just weeks after the release of their critically acclaimed third studio album, CO.WAR.DICE., which successfully broke an eight-year musical hiatus for the British alt-rock outfit. Recorded with producer Mark Crew at One Eyed Jack’s studio in Wimbledon, the intensely personal new song blends a tender, acoustic-driven ballad heart with the band's signature feral rock bite.
The single highlights a distinct maturity in the band's evolving sound, showcasing a tighter sonic control alongside a willingness to explore emotional vulnerability. Vocalist Becca Bottomley revealed that the track originated from an acoustic improvisation session and has undergone a massive journey parallel to her own personal growth. Bottomley noted that the lyrics reflect her early desires for deep, true love, and releasing the completed song now serves as a proud testament to making it to the other side of those vulnerabilities to a place of security.
The drop follows an exceptionally strong chart reception for CO.WAR.DICE., which powered straight to number two on the Official Rock & Metal Album Chart and secured the number six spot on the Official Independent Albums Chart. This commercial success has been mirrored in the live arena, where the group recently completed a fully sold-out intimate underplay tour and a subsequent headline run, capped off by a rapturously received, packed performance on the main stage at Download Festival.
The band's relentless live momentum shows no signs of slowing down as they transition into major summer festival appearances. Marmozets are scheduled to perform as special guests alongside rock titans Biffy Clyro at their massive Finsbury Park show in London on Friday, 3 July 2026. Following their hometown appearance, the group will head to the main stage of the 2000trees festival on 11 July, marking their highly anticipated return to the event for the first time since 2018.
