Global superstar Taylor Swift has announced a brand-new original single titled “I Knew It, I Knew You,” written specifically for Disney and Pixar’s upcoming animated feature film, "Toy Story 5." The 14-time Grammy Award winner revealed the project just as anticipation reaches a fever pitch for the movie's highly anticipated exclusive theatrical release on June 19.

The upcoming track was written and produced by Swift alongside her long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff. Fans will not have to wait long to hear the collaboration, as the single is scheduled to debut on all major streaming and digital music platforms this Friday, June 5. The full motion picture soundtrack will subsequently launch alongside the film later in the month.

Marking a notable stylistic shift, “I Knew It, I Knew You” sees the songstress returning to her traditional country music roots. The track blends the signature country elements of her early career with the refined songwriting styles that defined her recent chart-topping studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl." Visually and thematically, the new song is deeply inspired by the beloved cowgirl character Jessie, focusing heavily on her emotional character arc and ongoing narrative journey that originally began back in "Toy Story 2."

According to "Toy Story 5" director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton, Swift possessed an immediate and undeniable understanding of Jessie's character. Stanton noted that the new song is so intrinsically woven into the emotional fabric of the franchise that it instantly felt like a long-lost classic from the moment the production team first heard it.

Leading up to the official announcement, eagle-eyed fans noticed a series of cryptic billboards bearing the initials “TS”—a clever play on the shared initials of both the pop star and the movie title—popping up over the weekend in major global cities including London, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, and Mexico City. Pre-sales for the single have already launched on Swift's official webstore, featuring three exclusive physical CD configurations that include special acoustic and piano versions of the new track.
