Multi-platinum rockers Young the Giant have officially returned with their highly anticipated fifth studio album, Victory Garden. Released today, May 1, 2026, the project marks the band’s first full-length offering since 2022’s American Bollywood. Produced by the legendary Brendan O’Brien alongside the band, the album is being hailed as a powerful call for optimism and human connection in an increasingly fragmented world.
The title Victory Garden draws inspiration from the community-led efforts of the past to increase food supplies during times of war. For the band, the album serves as a metaphorical garden, intended to galvanize listeners through thoughtful action and "radical empathy." In a collective statement, the group shared that the record explores the struggle of life over death and love over fear, influenced heavily by the experience of raising children in modern times. This thematic depth is anchored by lead single “Different Kind Of Love,” which has already garnered significant support from BBC Radio 2.
To support the release, Young the Giant is embarking on the extensive Victory Garden World Tour, kicking off on May 24 in Las Vegas. The North American leg will run through August, hitting major amphitheaters and arenas with support from KennyHoopla, almost monday, and Cold War Kids. The latter will also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Robbers & Cowards.
Following the summer run, the band will head to Europe and the UK this autumn. This follows a recent, highly successful UK trip that saw an underplay show at Rough Trade East sell out in under 24 hours. The fall leg includes stops at iconic venues such as London’s KOKO and Glasgow’s Queen Margaret Union.
Fans can listen to the new album now, with the official music video for the track “Evergreen” set to premiere today at 5pm BST. General ticket sales for the newly announced tour dates begin Friday, May 8, at 10am local time. For those looking for early access, pre-ordering the album on any format before May 3 will grant entry into the exclusive tour presale. Full details and tour dates are available at youngthegiant.com.
