Brighton’s own Levellers have announced a landmark homecoming performance at Hove Park on Saturday, 5 September 2026. This exclusive open-air event marks the 35th anniversary of their seminal platinum-selling album, Levelling The Land, bringing the band back to the city where their journey began.
Released in 1991, Levelling The Land became a definitive soundtrack for a generation, featuring anthems such as "One Way," "15 Years," and "The Game." Band members Mark Chadwick and Jeremy ‘Jez’ Cunningham expressed their excitement about the location, noting the deep connection between the record and the city. "It’s a Brighton album; 90% of it was written here, and many of the songs are about the town and its environs," they shared. "Hove Park even has an original standing stone—The Goldstone—which is perfect for us!"
Since emerging in the late 1980s, the Levellers have remained one of the UK’s most fiercely independent and successful live acts. Their unique blend of folk-punk and political energy has not only shaped British music but also heavily influenced global festival culture and grassroots movements.
In keeping with their long-standing commitment to social justice, the band has partnered with Sussex Homeless Support for the event. Fans will have the option to make a charity donation during ticket purchase. The band, who have supported the organization for five years, noted that the issue of homelessness is "close to our hearts," having experienced it themselves during the band's early days.
Presented by JOY. Concerts, this rare outdoor performance promises to be a highlight of the 2026 summer season, with special guests to be announced soon.
Fans can sign up for pre-sale access starting today, Tuesday, 28 April. Pre-sale tickets will go live on Thursday, 7 May, followed by the general sale on Friday, 8 May at 10:00 AM BST via levellersbrighton.com. The event is open to those aged 14 and over, provided minors are accompanied by an adult.
