The Buena Vista Orchestra is set to bring the vibrant spirit of Havana to London for a highly anticipated headline performance at indigo at The O2 on February 6, 2027. Led by the virtuoso Cuban violinist Rolando Morejón Reyes, this rare appearance follows a period of immense global success and extensive touring that has revitalized the world’s love for the Latin jazz canon.
The ensemble features an elite lineup of musicians, including veterans of the original Buena Vista Social Club performances. The orchestra’s pedigree is further bolstered by members who have performed with the Afro-Cuban All Stars, as well as the legendary bands of Celia Cruz, Chucho Valdés, and Omara Portuondo. Together, they deliver a masterclass in the rhythms that define Cuban culture, from son and rumba to the infectious cha-cha-chá.
A Legacy Continued
Audiences can expect a setlist that masterfully balances the iconic Buena Vista Social Club catalogue with deep cuts and fan favorites from the broader Latin American songbook. This touring cycle follows a triumphant run across North America, captured in the acclaimed Live In 2025! album, which documented the "infectious joy" and "captivitating power" noted by critics.
“I am very excited to be coming to London and the UK, where we will share our Cuban homeland rhythms and rhymes with British music lovers,” says Rolando Morejón Reyes. Label founder Steven Machat added that the orchestra represents some of the finest musicianship he has ever encountered, promising a show that will have audiences "on their feet dancing from start to finish."
New Studio Material
The London announcement arrives just ahead of a brand-new studio album scheduled for release this summer. Recorded between Miami and Philadelphia, the project features a contribution from the legendary Omara Portuondo on the focus track "Chan Chan." The upcoming record aims to push the boundaries of the genre while maintaining a deep devotion to traditional Cuban structures.
Tickets for the February performance at indigo at The O2 are available now. With the orchestra’s reputation for life-affirming live shows, this rare London date is expected to be a highlight of the 2027 cultural calendar.
