Following a string of sold-out global tours, Weezer is set to return to the road this fall with Weezer: The Gathering. The 32-city North American arena run, featuring special guests The Shins and Silversun Pickups, kicks off on September 8 in Sacramento and concludes with a homecoming finale at Los Angeles’s Crypto.com Arena on October 24. The announcement comes as the band experiences a massive global resurgence. Their 2014 classic “Go Away” (featuring Bethany Cosentino) has recently gone viral, currently averaging a million streams a day and climbing the Top 40 Daily Viral charts. To maintain this momentum, Weezer will release a brand-new single, “Shine Again,” on April 1. The track marks their debut on Reprise/Warner Records and offers a first glimpse into their forthcoming, still-untitled studio album.
To celebrate the tour, the band has launched Initiation Week in Los Angeles. Fans in the city can participate in a series of unique events, including a Weezerpedia-level trivia night at Barney’s Beanery and a pickleball tournament on March 30, where fans can face off against the band members themselves.
With over 35 million records sold across three decades, Weezer remains a cornerstone of the alternative scene. This new tour follows their highly successful "Return to the Blue Planet" anniversary run and the stadium-filling Hella Mega tour.
