Multiplatinum singer-songwriter Sam Barber has officially turned the page to his next creative chapter with the release of his latest single, “Borrowed Time.” Out now via Atlantic Outpost, the track marks a raw and resolute step forward for the acclaimed troubadour, who continues to establish himself as one of the most authentic voices in modern country and folk-rock.

Penned by Barber and co-produced alongside frequent collaborator Joe Becker, “Borrowed Time” weaves no-nonsense, old-school country lyricism into a high-voltage electric framework. Rooted in rock instrumentation and a deep "folk soul," the track finds Barber untangling complicated emotions over the echoes of palm-muted power chords. His signature vocals quake through a haze of feedback as he delivers the biting plea, “Before you leave, take your disease.” The song’s architecture shifts on the bridge, where acoustic guitar entwines with a sparse beat, allowing Barber to find closure. He shakes off the weight of the past with the defiant line: “You think this hurts, but I’m so far from losing sleep.”

The release comes on the heels of Live From 2025, a project Barber unveiled last month to showcase the magnetic energy of his time on the road. Fans currently have the chance to experience that energy in person as he canvases North America on “The American Route,” an extensive headline tour running through June, buy tickets below. A major highlight of the trek includes Barber’s highly anticipated return to Indio, California, for the Stagecoach Music Festival on April 24.
