Mumford & Sons have taken a commanding early lead in the race for the UK’s Official Albums Chart Number 1 spot with their latest release, Prizefighter. The folk-rock trio—comprising Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane, and Ben Lovett—are currently on track to secure their fourth career chart-topper. If they maintain this momentum, it will mark an incredible second Number 1 in less than twelve months, following the success of Rushmere in April 2025. Prizefighter looks set to join the band's prestigious tally of summits alongside Babel (2012) and Wilder Mind (2015).

However, the British outfit faces stiff competition from a legendary pop icon. George Michael’s 1987 solo debut, Faith, is currently surging toward the top spot following an extensive physical reissue. Available across various formats including picture discs and limited edition red and marble vinyl, the classic album currently sits at Number 2. This resurgence could see the late singer return to the Top 10 for the first time in 38 years, nearly four decades after the album's original Number 1 debut.

The mid-week update also highlights strong performances from female soloists. American pop star Hilary Duff is eyeing her highest-ever UK chart position with her sixth studio album, luck... or something. Currently sitting at Number 3, it is poised to drastically outperform her previous personal best of Number 25, set by Dignity in 2007. Meanwhile, Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne is also making waves with her debut solo effort, My Ego Told Me To, which is currently tracking for a Top 5 finish at Number 4.

Elsewhere in the charts, the soundtrack for the new Baz Luhrmann film EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is expected to break the Top 10 at Number 6. The compilation, which features classic recordings and live hits from the King of Rock and Roll, precedes the film's cinema release on February 27.

The lower half of the Top 40 sees potential milestones for several artists. Rapper Baby Keem is tracking for his first Top 40 finish with Ca$ino at Number 22, while country singer Megan Moroney is close behind at Number 25 with Cloud 9. Rounding out the projections, Paul Draper’s Mansun Retold is currently positioned at Number 30.
