In a powerful tribute to the female voices that have shaped the musical landscape, acclaimed UK vocalist Sarah Jane Morris has announced a headline performance at 229 Great Portland Street on March 8th. The concert, falling significantly on International Women’s Day, will serve as the official album launch for The Sisterhood 2, the highly anticipated second volume of her unique song cycle celebrating iconic female singer-songwriters.

This special London engagement promises to be a musical tour-de-force, featuring Morris alongside a 12-piece band and a massive 30-piece masterclass choir. The scale of the performance reflects the ambition of the project, which Morris co-wrote and co-produced with her long-time creative partner, legendary guitarist Tony Rémy.

The Sisterhood 2, arriving on March 6th, expands the project’s scope with 11 new tracks. Each song acts as a "biographical narrative" for artists who possess excellence, originality, and a social conscience. The album includes tributes to legends such as Dolly Parton, Tracy Chapman, Sinéad O’Connor, and Patti Smith. The first single from the collection, "The Edge is Where The Magic Is Found," is a poignant jazz ballad dedicated to the artistry of Amy Winehouse and is available now.

Morris, whose career spans five decades, remains a formidable force in the industry. Her collaboration with Rémy—who has previously played with the likes of Jack Bruce—fuses soul, jazz, and folk into a "passing of the torch from sister to sister." Other subjects in this volume include Joan Armatrading, Bonnie Raitt, and Etta James, each honored through meticulously crafted compositions that mirror their specific musical legacies.

For London audiences, the March 8th show at 229 is more than just a concert; it is a communal celebration of female empowerment and the enduring responsibility of the artist to act as a witness for the unheard. Tickets are currently on sale, and with the album’s release just days prior, the night is set to be one of the most significant events on the 2026 London spring arts calendar.
