The pioneers of British synth-pop are back. Following a triumphant sell-out at London’s O2 and a nostalgic celebration of their breakthrough album Crush, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) have officially announced their massive Summer of Hits Tour for 2026. Spanning 14 dates across the UK and Ireland, the tour promises to be a masterclass in electronic nostalgia and high-energy performance.
A Masterclass in Pioneering Pop
Since their 1979 debut with the electrifying single "Electricity," OMD has remained at the forefront of the genre. With 40 million global records sold and 29 appearances on Top of the Pops, Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys have curated a setlist that defines an era. Fans can expect a parade of synth-driven anthems, including "Enola Gay," "Souvenir," "Joan of Arc," and the iconic John Hughes soundtrack staple, "If You Leave."
The band isn't just resting on their laurels, however. Their 2023 studio album, Bauhaus Staircase, received critical acclaim, proving that OMD remains as relevant and experimental today as they were four decades ago. As The Telegraph noted in a glowing five-star review, an OMD show is a "masterclass in passionate, pioneering pop."
Prestigious Summer Settings
The 2026 tour is designed to make the most of the British summer, focusing on historic outdoor venues and atmospheric amphitheaters. The run kicks off on June 11th at Lincoln Castle, followed by a headline performance at the prestigious Hampton Court Palace in London on June 12th.
Other highlight stops include:
York Museum Gardens (July 9)
Trinity College, Dublin (July 4)
A double-night residency at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand (July 30–31)
A grand finale at Rochdale Town Hall Square on August 7th.
"There is always something special about outdoor concerts in the summer," says frontman Andy McCluskey. "A different energy and excitement. Prepare for the party... and bring your dancing shoes!"
Tickets for the Summer of Hits Tour are on sale now. Whether you are a lifelong "OMD-er" or a newcomer to the synth-wave revival, this tour is set to be the definitive soundtrack to the summer of 2026.
