Following a monumental year that saw his album Glory dominate "Best of 2025" lists in The New York Times, The Guardian, and Pitchfork, Perfume Genius (Mike Hadreas) has announced a digital-only extended edition of the critically acclaimed record. Set for release on February 27 via Matador, Glory (Extended) features four previously unreleased bonus tracks that offer a deeper look into the album’s creative DNA.
Stripping Back the ‘Glory’
The announcement is accompanied by the release of the new single ‘Undercurrent (Clean Heart)’, available to stream today. The track provides a stark, intimate contrast to the "bombastic" studio version found on the original LP.
“All of Glory was born from these home recordings,” Hadreas explains. “Clean Heart in the studio went through a lot of incarnations... I still think of it as a little hymn, so it is satisfying to share this piano version.” The extended release marks a return to the piano-and-vocal foundations of Hadreas’s earliest work, exploring themes of domesticity, love, and the inescapable history of the body.
2026 North American Duo Tour
The release coincides with Hadreas’s 2026 Duo Tour, a series of intimate performances alongside longtime collaborator and keyboardist Alan Wyffels. After a successful kickoff in Chicago—described by the Chicago Tribune as a "journey to the heart of the music"—the tour will resume this spring.
Before the duo dates begin in earnest, Perfume Genius will perform three full-band shows in late March, including a highly anticipated appearance at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville.
