Following the announcement of her highly anticipated third solo album, PLAY ME, alternative pioneer Kim Gordon has confirmed a major London headline date at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Tickets are on sale now for what promises to be one of the most significant avant-garde performances of the spring season.
The London show sits at the heart of Gordon’s UK and European tour, serving as a homecoming of sorts for her cutting-edge sound. The performance follows the March 13 release of PLAY ME via Matador, an album that sees Gordon pivoting from the industrial, "brick-heavy" textures of her Grammy-nominated 2024 record, The Collective, toward a more distilled, beat-oriented energy.
Fans at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire can expect to hear the debut of Gordon’s newest material, including the lead single "NOT TODAY." The track has already garnered widespread acclaim, with Rolling Stone praising its "shoegazey synth" and Stereogum noting a more melodic and vulnerable quality to Gordon's legendary vocals. The song’s dreamlike, "electric white noise" atmosphere—further explored in a striking music video collaboration with fashion house Rodarte—is expected to translate into a powerful, immersive live experience.
Recorded in collaboration with producer Justin Raisen, the new tracks lean into the motorik drive of krautrock and shorter, more aggressive song structures. “We wanted the songs to be short. We wanted to do it really fast,” Gordon explains. This sense of urgency and confidence is a hallmarks of her solo career, which continues to challenge the "flattening of culture" with dark humor and inquisitive, physical jams.
As Gordon continues to process the complexities of the modern era—from technocratic fascism to the impact of AI—the Shepherd’s Bush Empire show offers London audiences a rare opportunity to witness an artist who remains perpetually "in process" and at the vanguard of experimental music.
