Renowned writer, poet, and performer Joshua Idehen has unveiled his latest single, ‘This Is The Place’, offering a vibrant glimpse into his highly anticipated debut album. Titled I Know You’re Hurting, Everyone Is Hurting, Everyone Is Trying, You Have Got To Try, the record is set for release via Heavenly Recordings on 6 March 2026.
Produced alongside long-term creative partner Ludvig Parment, ‘This Is The Place’ is a "dancefloor future classic" that leans into the restorative power of nightlife. Following a standout performance on Later… with Jools Holland, the track cements Idehen’s reputation for blending poignant spoken word with infectious, rhythmic production.
A Love Letter to the Dancefloor
Reflecting on the track’s origins, Idehen recalls being instantly transported back to early mornings at the legendary London club, Fabric. "I wanted to capture that feeling," Idehen explains. "One of those weekend nights that felt so non-special at the time—just another average night out—but were a quiet healing, an ordinary burst of joy."
The accompanying video, directed by PREHUMAN, mirrors this sentiment. Shot with a minimalist, 90s-inspired aesthetic, it features Idehen’s compelling performance alongside Parment on an old MPC3000. The director describes the visual as a tribute to "bodies moving together" and the beauty found in imperfection.
