Ohio-born singer-songwriter Michael Marcagi is starting 2026 with a massive milestone. Today, the multi-platinum artist officially announced his debut solo album, "Under The Streetlights," arriving February 6 via Warner Records. To mark the announcement, Marcagi has released a new single, “Don’t Include Me (American Dream),” a poignant folk-pop reflection on lost love and the bittersweet reality of moving on.
A New Chapter in Storytelling
“Don’t Include Me (American Dream)” showcases Marcagi’s signature gift for relatable, midwestern storytelling. The track builds from intimate acoustic strumming into a sweeping full-band anthem as he describes the ache of watching a former partner build a life that no longer has room for him.
"It’s a song about the feeling of wanting to go back but knowing you can’t change anything," Marcagi explains. The single joins the recently released "Unlocks Me" on the 10-track album, which also features a notable collaboration with Jade Bird on the track "Rocksteady."
From Viral Success to Platinum Status
The album announcement comes as Marcagi’s breakout hit, “Scared to Start,” achieves 2x Platinum certification. Since its release, the song has become a global phenomenon, amassing over 1 billion streams and 2.2 billion views on TikTok. Marcagi’s rapid ascent recently saw him performing alongside the Jonas Brothers and making his debut at the Grand Ole Opry’s centennial celebrations.
Headline EU/UK Tour Launches Next Week
Fans won't have to wait long to hear the new material live. Marcagi kicks off his biggest EU/UK headline tour next week, starting in Lisbon on January 20. The run concludes with a prestigious date at The Roundhouse in London on February 21, just weeks after the album’s release.
Following his European dates, Marcagi will return to the U.S. for a performance at the Stagecoach Music Festival and a spring tour supporting Sam Barber.
