Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) has delivered a double dose of major news: the announcement of a large-scale UK and European tour for Spring 2026 and the release of a hypnotic new single, “Dracula.” This all precedes the arrival of his highly anticipated fifth studio album, Deadbeat, set for release on October 17th via Columbia Records.
The new album promises to be a collection of potent club-psych explorations, with Parker sculpting his most direct and "brain-wormy" songwriting to date. The sound is deeply inspired by bush doof culture and the Western Australia rave scene, with Deadbeat recasting Tame Impala as a kind of future primitive rave act. Recorded primarily between Parker’s hometown of Fremantle and his studio, Wave House, the album embraces a distinct minimalism and a playful vocal range that showcases a newfound spontaneity.
Parker describes Deadbeat lyrically as channeling an “endless bummer,” focusing on the emotional minutiae of a self-deprecating figure. The record positions raving as self-enquiry and self-medication, pitching the euphoric music against themes of feeling stuck. The new single, “Dracula,” arrives with an accompanying video directed by Julian Klincewicz, following previously released tracks “Loser” and the sprawling, acid house-infused “End of Summer.”
The UK and European tour will kick off on April 4, 2026, in Porto, Portugal, and wrap up on May 13 in Dublin, Ireland. Key stops include the O2 in London (May 7), Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena (May 8), and major arena dates across Germany, France, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Tickets for the tour will be available via an artist pre-sale beginning Wednesday, October 1st, at 9 AM BST, with the general on-sale starting Friday, October 3rd, at 9 AM BST. Fans can now pre-order Deadbeat, which will be available in several exclusive vinyl variants.
