Roxette Returns: Per Gessle and Lena Philipsson launch 2025 European tour
06 May 2025
Roxette are back on the road in 2025—nearly a decade after what was believed to be their final live shows. Frontman and songwriter Per Gessle has reignited the beloved pop powerhouse, teaming up with Swedish pop icon Lena Philipsson to launch Roxette In Concert, a brand-new European tour celebrating the band’s timeless hits.
Following a triumphant first leg in South Africa and Australia, where over 75,000 fans joined in euphoric singalongs, the response has been overwhelming. Critics have praised the show’s emotional depth and explosive energy, with Newcastle Live calling it “a masterclass in hit-making” and Music Festivals Australia hailing it as “electric and unforgettable.”
The setlist draws deep from Roxette’s iconic catalogue—featuring chart-toppers like It Must Have Been Love, Joyride, and Listen to Your Heart, as well as fan favourites like The Look and Queen of Rain—delivering nostalgia with a vibrant, contemporary twist.
This marks Roxette’s first major tour since the passing of beloved vocalist Marie Fredriksson in 2019. “Marie will always be irreplaceable,” said Gessle. “But it’s been incredibly emotional to reconnect with fans and bring the music back. Lena is a phenomenal performer—I actually co-wrote her first hit in 1986. This partnership just felt right.”
Philipsson added, “Singing these legendary songs with Per and the band has been a true joy. The reaction from audiences has been nothing short of magical.”
The live band features longtime Roxette collaborators, including Clarence Öfwerman and Jonas Isacsson, ensuring the original spirit of the music remains intact.
Roxette In Concert will tour across Europe this autumn, hitting arenas in London, Berlin, Prague, Barcelona, Stockholm and more.
Tickets go on sale Friday 9 May at 9am BST via LiveNation.co.uk.
Don’t miss your chance to relive the soundtrack of a generation—live, loud, and full of heart.
