Chappell Roan announced as first headliner of Øya Festival 2025

Oslo’s Øya Festival has been setting the example for other festivals to follow since 1999. Its progressive ideals as the world’s greenest festival and its 50/50 gender split of artists are equalled by programming which consistently brings some of the world’s biggest headliners and breaking domestic talent together in a beautiful setting that still feels intimate.

Today, Øya Festival makes a big statement of intent for its 2025 event as it reveals its first wave of artists. The reveal is led by the Wednesday 6th August headliner, the global femininomenon Chappell Roan.

Chappell Roan has experienced one of the biggest breakthroughs imaginable over the course of the past year. Her debut album ‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princess’ quickly became one of 2023’s most acclaimed releases, but her trajectory exploded as started 2024 with an arena tour as special guest to Olivia Rodrigo.
