Olivia Dean announces 2024 headline tour including huge Eventim Apollo show
31 August 2023
Olivia Dean today announces her spring 2024 UK and European headline tour. Dean will be touring her sensational live shows across some of the biggest venues she’s ever played, including a huge London hometown show at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo.
Fans who are signed up to Olivia’s mailing list here will receive codes for artist presale at 10am BST on Wednesday 6th September. Tickets will be available via general sale from 10am BST on Friday 8th September, see below for full list of dates.
Of announcing her biggest tour to date, Olivia shares: “I can’t wait to fill these rooms with love and warmth and dancing feet. It’s gonna be very special and I can’t wait to sing with you all”.
To celebrate the news, Olivia today has also shared a previously unseen live video of her performing her cover of ‘Millionaire’, captured at her headline show at London’s KOKO earlier this year. A joyful, fan-favourite moment from her live set, Olivia’s cover of Kelis and Andre 3000’s beloved 2003 track ‘Millionaire’ has been going down a storm at her shows and festival performances worldwide this year.
This announcement follows an incredible run of live shows this summer which has seen Olivia play to packed audiences across the UK and beyond, at festivals including Glastonbury, All Points East, Montreux Jazz festival and many more, as well as a sold out outdoor show at Somerset House, which was the fastest selling of the whole series.
Along with playing Glastonbury (with headliner Elton John singing her praises: "I think she’s a big star … she’s a fabulous singer, she’s beautiful, she’s got that personality that really shines through"), and her first US headline shows, Olivia has fulfilled two more of her childhood dreams this year; playing on Jools Holland and being nominated for the Mercury Prize; “i stewarded the mercurys in 2015 holding umbrellas and now i get to go as an artist. anything can happen!”.
Olivia’s debut album Messy has been shortlisted as a 2023 Mercury Prize with FREENOW Album of the Year, with the ceremony taking place on 7th September. Released in June via EMI and debuting at #4 in the Official Charts, Messy cements Olivia Dean as one of the most original and versatile voices in UK pop.
Crafting classic yet conversational hooks with genre-fluid tinges, she’s honed a way of exploring universal themes of love, loss and everything in between with razor-sharp but open-hearted storytelling. Messy features the singles ‘Dive’, ‘Danger’, ‘UFO’, ‘Carmen’ and ‘The Hardest Part’, with Olivia recently sharing a special new version of the track featuring Leon Bridges.
Dean also recently helmed a musical squad of 11 artists named Hope FC to co-write and perform new single ‘Call Me A Lioness’, to celebrate the England women’s football team the ‘Lionesses’ and the 2023 Women’s World Cup.Teaming up with Melanie C, Self Esteem, Ellie Rowsell (Wolf Alice), Al Greenwood (Sports Team), Marika Hackman, Rachel Chinouriri, Shura, Jasmine Jethwa, Rose Gray, Highlyy, ‘Call Me A Lioness’ will raise money for charities that support grassroots girls and women’s football: Football Beyond Borders, Street Soccer, Girls United and Manchester Laces.
