Lloyd Cole has released two extraordinary remixes of ‘Wolves’, the epic closing song on his forthcoming new album ‘On Pain’. The first, The Red Star mix, is by Lloyd himself, while the second, The LycanthroMix, is by Martin Ware and Charles Stooke

With the aid of AI and Canadian film director Doug Arrowsmith Lloyd has fashioned two groundbreaking, hallucinogenic films for these mixes. The main video for the Red Star Mix was created from some 700 AI images Lloyd created using PIXRAY and various lyrics and scenarios from the song. He kept adding key phrases which caused the AI to generate more abstract and less derivative images. The Sky Wolves in the chorus were created by recolouring images from a Medieval Manuscript.

Says Lloyd: “I was excited by the possibilities of AI. I don’t think anyone could say - Oh that looks like so and so. It looks like nothing I’ve ever seen before…”

On 23rd June ‘23 Lloyd Cole will release his twelfth album as a solo artist. Entitled,‘On Pain’, it features eight new Lloyd Cole songs, four of which are co-written by Commotions founding members Blair Cowan and Neil Clark, who also perform on the record. The album is produced by Chris Merrick Hughes and was recorded in Lloyd’s attic studio The Establishment in Massachusetts.
