Vistas return new single 'Last Together' + live dates
13 April 2023
Vistas are setting off the summer with huge new single 'Last Together', out today.
Setting the tone for the rest of the year, 'Last Together' is the first release from the Scottish trio since the acclaimed The Beautiful Nothing EP, which was announced released at the start of the year via Is Right Records.
The Beautiful Nothing kickstarted a new era for Vistas, bringing heavier elements into play that gloriously played off the breezy, euphoric staples of their two critically lauded albums.
'Last Together' feels like the ultimate culmination of how far Vistas have come over the last seven years, as a surging instrumental backdrop meets a stadium-sized chorus, while clever and understated production flourishes effortlessly take things to the next level.
Speaking about 'Last Together', frontman Prentice Robertson says: "I wanted 'Last Together' to feel like an anthem for those of us who fade into the background. Increasingly, I've felt this in myself in social situations and I wanted to try and articulate this in a song. I like the contrast of the song sounding big, heavy and in your face while the subject matter is about not being noticed. In myself, I know that when I feel outcast as a result of a situation I'm in, I so much want to be bold and break through that barrier but there is this emergency stop that shuts down what I've carefully articulated in my head and I think that the disparity between the music and lyrics sums up that feeling."
'Last Together' is the first taste of an exciting new project from the band due this summer, and this spring will see the trio play a host of headline shows alongside festival appearances including Reading and Leeds.
