‘Off Balance’ is the new single from Victor, the first from an upcoming EP and arrives with the announcement of his second ever London headline show at the Camden Assembly on the 9th May (his first, at Laylow last month, sold out in under 8 hours). Victor also plays The Great Escape on the 11th May.
Born in Uganda, growing up in Newcastle and now based in London, Victor Ray lives and breathes his craft. With an undeniable voice reminiscent of the soul greats and an innate musicality, Victor’s sound encompasses classic songwriting with contemporary production and timeless talent. As inspired by J.Cole as he is Adele, Victor epitomises his generations’ genreless approach to creating music, with the influences of Pop, Hip Hop, Soul and RnB evident throughout ‘Off Balance’.
Lyrically, Victor finds inspiration from his own experiences and in ‘Off Balance’ finds himself grappling with “the fallout between two people who are very close and how the whole relationship is unstable”. He writes with an honesty and authenticity that is fully brought to life with his flawless, impassioned vocals and firmly marks him out as one of the most exciting new talents around.
