Led by Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick, as the singer, guitarist and composer, British acid Jazz band Incognito are to take to the stage at iconic venue Koko this October.

Formed in 1979, Incognito has stood as a staple of the UK jazz and soul scene for more than four decades, as well as enjoying global success with their undiluted, no rules Jazz inspired sound.

After immigrating to London from his native Mauritius, the live music scene in the UK grabbed Jean-Paul’s attention with groups such as Gonzalez and FBI becoming major inspirations.

‘Bluey’ began his career by starting the band Light of the World, the forerunner of the 1970’s British jazz funk movement, which was formed during the years he worked in his cousin Joe’s record shop in Tottenham.

Incognito was started alongside bassist Paul ‘Tubbs’ Williams and by 1991 with their Inside Life album, they were received as smooth jazz heroes in the U.S.

Now, almost 44 years later, the great British adventure of Incognito has collected in its stride multiple top 10 hits and collaborations with artists across the globe such as Jocelyn Brown, Stevie Wonder, George Benson, Paul Weller and more.
