Quinn XCII reveals latest single 'The Lows' + live dates
15 January 2023
Platinum singer and songwriter Quinn XCII unveils his brand new single “The Lows” from his highly anticipated new album The People’s Champ out January 27th.. Last night, he delivered an explosive performance of the song for the first time ever live on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
“The Lows” amplifies the infectious idiosyncrasies of Quinn XCII’s signature style. A funky bass line grooves between boisterous horns and handclaps as his silky high register echoes, “My highs don’t stand a chance without the low, low, lows.”
He says, “As a society, we only celebrate the high moments of our lives, and we don’t value the lows. I’ve come to a place of accepting everything in a neutral way and understanding situations shape us how we’re meant to be shaped. I’m a firm believer that things happen for a reason. The highest moments wouldn’t be so sweet without the shitty moments that bring you back down to earth. It’s about understanding life is a dance of positive and negative and not getting too frustrated when things are going poorly or too cocky when things are going well. Take it day-by-day.”
The song is the latest release from Quinn XCII’s fifth studio album, The People’s Champ, which also includes fan favorites “Let Me Down” feat. Chelsea Cutler (the artists’ sixth collaboration together), “Common” feat. Big Sean, and “Backpack”. See the full album tracklisting below, which also features collaborations with AJR and Adrian Cota.
He says, “Even five records in, I feel like I have to fight for my stripes and prove myself. This is an underdog story, so I thought ‘The People’s Champ’ was a funny way to describe it. A lot of the process was going back to the basis of making fun Quinn-sounding records people will resonate with.” Ultimately, Quinn XCII wants his fans to know that “Everyone is their own people’s champ.”
In support of his new album, Quinn XCII will embark on “The People’s Tour” in 2023. He recently announced the Australian and European/UK legs—see the full list of upcoming dates
