2021 ending with a sell-out Christmas performance at Newcastle's City Hall, folk rock veterans Lindisfarne return to the country's theatres and festivals with a 30-date tour this year of their best-loved songs.
Fielding a rich repertoire of much-loved hit songs like Meet Me On The Corner, Fog On The Tyne, Lady Eleanor and Run For Home, Lindisfarne enjoy a reputation for live performance second to none. The five-piece band is guaranteed to get crowds on their feet and singing along.
Lindisfarne are performing in major towns and cities including Leeds, Edinburgh, London, Carlisle, Kinross, Liverpool, Worcester and Glasgow as well popular provincial venues and family festivals.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the band's album Fog on The Tyne hitting the number one spot in the album charts and a similar achievement for single Meet Me On The Corner, penned by co-founder and current band member Rod Clements.
"Despite everything that this pandemic throws at us and our fans, we had a great time last year on the road," says Rod.
"The big thing was rejuvenating our set list, keeping the hits in of course, but introducing also some other songs from our past we've not played for a while and that went down exceptionally well.
"So we're bringing it all back this year!"
Fans of live music on the small screen also have a treat coming: the band's February dates at North Shields's Exchange Theatre are to be filmed for a forthcoming DVD showcasing the Lindisfarne Live experience!
