Acclaimed British singer and songwriter, JP Cooper drops his new single ‘Need You Tonight’ featuring the one and only, Ray BLK, today on Friday 14th January. The new breath-taking ballad is a track off his much-anticipated new album “SHE” which releases on 18th February 2022 through Island Records.

‘Need You Tonight’ is a perfect collaboration between two incredibly talented singer songwriters as JP Cooper and Ray BLK both offer their inspiring soulful vocals along with their moving lyrics to tell a story that is close to JP’s heart.

Speaking more about the new release, JP says:

“Need You Tonight is a song about navigating the fallout of a young relationship in a small town… it’s one of my favourite songs from the album and really sparks so many photographic memories for me. After finishing the original version, we thought it would be really interesting to hear the other side of the story so I reached out to Ray BLK to see if she’d be up for bringing her amazing pen game and vocal delivery to the song… she said yes and it turned out like this… I hope you love it as much as I do.”

Ray Blk says:

“JP reached out about doing a verse on this song and as soon as I heard it, I was really moved and it brought up emotions I related to. I really wanted to write the best thing possible to add to what was already a beautiful song and so I took inspiration from my own heartbreak, and I’m really proud of what we’ve created.”

The new release follows his recent single releases such as “We Cry” and further tracks such his infectious upbeat track “Call My Name” and gospel-tinged track “Holy Water”. All singles which are off his impending new album ‘SHE’ are accompanied by music videos that follow the story of a father and daughter’s relationship exploring themes such as faith, family, and love, as well as acoustic and gospel versions.

In addition to this, JP Cooper recently performed in his hometown of Manchester as a secret special guest of Mancunian rapper Bugzy Malone at his incredible sold out AO Arena show. JP will be back onstage in the New Year for his own headline tour as he returns to intimate grass root venues in the spring of 2022, taking in 23 towns and cities, kicking off in Ireland on 23rd April before finishing the tour back in Manchester on 29th May.
