ANE BRUN has released a new video today for a re-working of her beautiful single Crumbs, remixed by The Small Crowd in Sweden. This video was made in celebration of Ane’s stunning live shows that are finally being allowed to take place in various countries following the World’s lockdowns, so Ane and her band will be travelling to Glasgow, Manchester and London to play in front of her long-awaited fans this October.
This sensual electronic mix of Crumbs is made by The Sound Wizard behind the name The Small Crowd, Swedish producer Martin H, who focuses solely on the theme of relationships.
”I think many people can recognise a situation like this,” explains Ane. “People getting involved with someone who’s already in a relationship is more common than we might like to think. We can end up eating the crumbs of a potential relationship, leaving us emotionally starving. When I wrote this song, I kept thinking about Nina Simone’s amazing rendition of ‘The Other Woman’ by Jessie Mae Robinson.”
Stian Andersen, who directed the video and who has worked with Brun once before, came onto the project with fast enthusiasm after hearing the song. “I immediately felt connected to the track,” adds Andersen. “The melody has an epic cinematic quality to it and the lyrics are both personal and strong. I am so proud of the amazing cast (Mariama Fatou, Slåttøy Oswald, and Amoa Eliiza Kuol), the cinematography, and the costumes that play a significant role in the video. Fun fact: the feathers in the pink dress in the video are from the movie Blade Runner.”
