Legendary Grammy winning music icon and Sonic Master of Progressive Rock, ALAN PARSONS, has been forced to postpone a long-awaited Alan Parsons Live Project U.S. national tour due to the resurgence of Covid 19. Hitting too close to home, and concerns for fans and crew, Parsons has decided to put 20 concert venues on hold to protect all.
It is with huge disappointment that I have postponed our upcoming US tour dates in August and September. Nothing is more important to me than the safety of my band, crew, the concert staff, and most importantly of course, you - the fans. This has been a very difficult and devastating decision - we were so thrilled to be returning to the stage for the first time in over a year and a half. The world could use more music right now, however, it just isn’t safe yet for us to come together indoors for events like concerts. All shows should be re-scheduled. If you already have tickets, please hang on to them - they will be honored at the re-scheduled dates, which will be announced shortly. Until we can safely join together again, please take care of yourselves and each other. “I wanted you to know - you’ve always shared my deepest thoughts - you follow where I go.”
In June, Parsons received the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in the arts at the annual Queen’s Birthday Honors. His music Sirius/Eye In The Sky (Chicago Bulls theme song) has received over 47 million views and millions of social media followers.
Parsons talent began his storied career as an assistant engineer at the famed Abbey Road Studios working on projects such as The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Let It Be, and quickly became one of the most sought-after names in the recording industry for his engineering work on Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon, sound engineer and associate producer for Steve Wilson’s album “The Raven that Refused to Sing (And Other Stories).” Released February 25, 2013, it received critical applause and rated #3 on the German album charts.
The Alan Parsons Project, a multi-platinum selling, progressive rock band featuring Parsons, his collaborator Eric Woolfson and a rotating cast of studio musicians. The Alan Parsons Project garnered commercial and critical acclaim for such certified Billboard Top 40 hit singles as "Eye in the Sky," “Time” and "Don't Answer Me" among other successes.
Originally from London and south of England, Parsons will continue to work on producing and composing music projects out of his Parsonics Studio located in Santa Barbara, CA.
