The Eden Project announced today that The Script will be performing as part of the Eden Sessions series of concerts taking place in September this year.
The Irish alt-pop trio will play Eden on September 17, 2021.
The Script had been one of the acts scheduled to play the Sessions this summer but due to the uncertainties around the impacts of the pandemic and restrictions on outdoor audiences, these shows could not take place.
Rita Broe, Managing Director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said today: “We’re delighted to be able to confirm that The Script will be joining our fabulous line-up of Eden Sessions this September and we’re sure that their first appearance on our stage will be a night never to be forgotten.”
Tickets for The Script cost £50 plus £5 booking fee and are now on sale on www.edensessions.com.
Eden is contacting all existing ticket purchasers with details. Original tickets remain valid for The Script and any other show that is rescheduled.
The band’s sixth studio album Sunsets & Full Moons reached number one in the charts upon release in November 2019.
Having returned with the emotive first single The Last Time, Sunsets & Full Moons is the sound of The Script, namely Danny O’Donoghue (vocals, piano, guitar), Mark Sheehan (vocals, guitars) and Glen Power (drums, vocals).
The album focusses on the inclusive, uplifting song-writing that has helped The Script become an arena-filling band with a fervent fan base the world over.
Danny O’Donoghue, who is also well known as a coach on the first two series of The Voice UK, rates the album the most poignant they have made.
The band embrace the unifying power of the simple things - killer hooks, insistent melodies and stirring sentiments.
Eden has previously announced Ben Howard (appearing on September 11), McFly (September 12) and Snow Patrol (September 16, sold out except for a limited number of Sessions Plus packages) and IDLES (September 18) for the series of Sessions later this year (2021).
Also confirmed are two rescheduled shows for next year’s Eden Sessions.
My Chemical Romance will take the stage in front of the Biomes on May 17, 2022 (sold out except for a limited number of Sessions Plus packages), and Lionel Richie will play on June 14, 2022.
In September 2019 The Eden Project and global live events company AEG Presents announced a new partnership, Eden Sessions Ltd, to run the Eden Sessions.
