Tony Bennett and Neil Young to join Nordoff Robbins Christmas concert line-up
14 December 2020
Bennett and Young will be joining the biggest line-up of 2020 including: Nile Rodgers, Sir Cliff Richard, Sir Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams, Roger Daltrey, Florence Welch, Saving Grace ft. Robert Plant and Suzi Dian, Kaiser Chiefs, Freya Ridings, OneRepublic, Rebecca Ferguson and so many more. Plus, Bill Nighy, Lily James, Noma Dumezweni and more doing readings. Full info below.
The concert streams this week on Tuesday 15th at 7pm. Watch online at: https://carols.nordoff-robbins.org.uk. It’s free to watch but the audience is invited to donate at any point during the virtual event.
Tony Bennett says: “The holidays are my favorite as it’s a time when everyone makes the effort to show their appreciation for the people and organizations that make the world better. I am thrilled to be performing at The Nordoff Robbins Carol Service to support the enrichment they provide to those in need through the power of music - each and every day.”
The new additions will be joining Sir Rod Stewart, Sir Cliff Richard, Robbie Williams, Florence Welch, Roger Daltrey from The Who, Saving Grace ft. Robert Plant and Suzi Dian, OneRepublic, Kaiser Chiefs, Simple Minds, Rebecca Ferguson, Alexis Ffrench, James Dean Bradfield from Manic Street Preachers, The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue, Mica Paris, Friederike Krum.
Plus readings from: Bill Nighy, Lily James, Noma Dumezweni, Kwame Kwei-Armah OBE and Freddie Fox.
The service is free to watch and audiences are invited to donate. All proceeds will go to Nordoff Robbins, the UK’s largest independent music therapy charity who are dedicated to enriching the lives of people affected by life limiting illness isolation or disability through music.
The music therapy charity are expecting to lose over half of their fundraising income. This means they will be able to help less people with the power of music – even though their services are needed now more than ever.
This year’s incredible line up would not be possible without the hard work of the Hipgnosis Songs Fund and its CEO and Founder Merck Mercuriadis who along with co-founder Nile Rodgers have worked tirelessly to rally many of the artists together for the special Christmas concert.
