Hosted by broadcaster Jasmine Dotiwala, tickets now available for free BPI/Official Charts event on 26th August to mark this year’s Carnival.
The BPI and Official Charts Company are partnering once again to host Let’s Talk About Music – the online event discussing music and the impact it has on our lives.
The special guest for the third edition of the event will be Matthew Phillip, Executive Director of Notting Hill Carnival, ahead of what will be the first ever online carnival.
With COVID-19 continuing to impact on live concerts and events, the usual carnival celebrations have been replaced with a series of free livestreamed events, titled Notting Hill Carnival Access All Areas, that will be broadcast on the Notting Hill Carnival website across four channels from 29-31 August.
Let’s Talk About Music will take place at 5pm on 26th August, and is free for all to attend, with sign up

Matthew has been Executive Director of Notting Hill Carnival since 2018, and will be interviewed by acclaimed broadcaster, producer, director and columnist Jasmine Dotiwala, who has many years of experience working in the entertainment broadcast industry. Matthew will be invited to discuss his journey of music discovery from his early years to the present, as well as his role within Notting Hill Carnival, and his plans for the 2020 event. The hour-long session will end with a Q&A, where the digital floor will be thrown open to the audience for questions.
The BPI continues to adapt to host online seminars exploring the business side of the music industry. This partnership with the Official Charts Company is one of many born of a desire to lift our community’s spirits in these difficult times by talking about the one love that unites us all: music itself. Previous contributors to the Let’s Talk About Music series include acclaimed music critic Pete Paphides, and broadcaster and London’s Night Czar, Amy Lamé.
