Paris Jackson was caught up in the violent protests in Los Angeles on Saturday, which prompted city Mayor Eric Garcetti to call for an overnight curfew in an effort to keep people off the streets.

The model and actress took to the streets and captured images of the clashes between activists and police officers, sparked by the death of George Floyd at the hands of white police officers in Minneapolis on Monday.

In two photos she posted on Twitter on Saturday night, as the curfew was announced, she attacked the police firing at protesters and those criticising the activists from their homes.

"don’t tell me to sit this one out. especially if you’re in the comfort of your homes behind a screen. until you’re up there on the front lines with me, i will not respect your opinion," Paris wrote.

"i personally will not parttake (sic) in violence, nor do i condone it. but at least i’m f**king here. some of y’all talking s**t as if you were actually there with us today when the fuzz (police) were shooting at us."

She added: "you do you, i’ll do me. peace is my way, it doesn’t have to be yours. but think about the type of person you come off as when you attack someone who’s advocating for peace."
