On the heels of worldwide success and nearly 1 billion on-demand streams of his breakthrough smash ‘Nevermind’ Dennis Lloyd’s sequel ‘Never Go Back’ has made a flying start by racing to over 30 million streams already. After premiering the track via Complex, Dennis now shares the track’s official music video.

As part of a narrative rollout, the new visual serves as a prequel to the breakup depicted in the recently released vertical video — shot innovatively via the perspective of his ex-girlfriend’s iPhone.

After completing three years of Army service, Dennis moved to Bangkok in search of a creative haven. Basking in the quiet space of a single bedroom apartment, left with no WiFi and only his instruments, laptop, and a microphone, he spent one year creating. It was during this time that Dennis composed and recorded 40 songs, including “Nevermind”, about a Colombian woman he met and fell for while traveling in Asia. Continuing their relationship following their travels, he then penned “Never Go Back” after their eventual breakup in Israel. For the official music video, Dennis took trips to Sri Lanka and Tel Aviv in order to shoot the cinematic clip on location in Asia and Israel.

About the “Never Go Back” video, Dennis says, "Shooting the music video in Sri Lanka was surreal in so many ways. The video is loosely based on my previous relationship and the time we spent together. In some senses, this video felt like closure to me. It was very difficult to recreate though, as I had to relive the relationship falling apart."

Against these beautiful backdrops, “Never Go Back” displays the high points of the relationship with his ex in passionate detail, intercutting moments of lovestruck bliss, seductive reprieve, and emotional intensity. The story moves in eloquent turbulence with the song as it dips into rock, reggae, and pop united by the strength of the immediately intoxicating hook.

Straight out of the gate,“Never Go Back” drew widespread fan and tastemaker enthusiasm. In under a month, it debuted on 16 Spotify international viral charts while his monthly listener-ship on the platform stretched past 9 million.

“Never Go Back” represents just one piece of the story. This Spring, he will unveil his debut EP, which fleshes out the entire narrative of this relationship and what lead to it’s eventual breakup.

Earlier this week, Dennis confirmed a special intimate set to showcase music from his new EP at the Omeara in London in conjunction with DICE on 2nd April. It sold-out within 48 hours.

As 2019 rolls on, Dennis Lloyd’s journey towards stardom accelerates at light speed.

Blurring the lines between pop, R&B, rock, and reggae, “Never Go Back” hints at the scope of his signature sound, which he cultivated during the trip of a lifetime to Thailand. Crossing genres and borders, Dennis Lloyd pushed towards international stardom since his emergence in 2016. Born and raised in Israel, he learned trumpet and guitar as a young kid and eventually incorporated his multi-instrumental talents into dynamic, disruptive, and diverse pop music on his breakout single “Nevermind.” After self-releasing “Nevermind”, the track began gaining traction (unbeknownst to him while in Israel with no access to streaming platforms) and eventually amassed over 750 million streams, soared to #3 on Alternative Radio, and went platinum in several territories. It also received critical acclaim from Billboard, Genius and TIME who featured the track in their predictions for the “2018 Song of Summer”. Additionally, he was featured as YouTube’s Artist on the Rise and made his late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!Now, he ignites 2019 with his debut single for Arista Records, “Never Go Back.”
