Jackie Cohen has announced she’ll release her debut album, ‘Zagg’, on 10th May 2019 via Spacebomb. ‘Zagg’ follows Jackie’s two introductory EPs “Tacoma Night Terror Parts 1 & 2,” which were released last year, also on Spacebomb, and were called "utterly spellbinding" (The Line of Best Fit), "a stunning and complete debut" (Vinyl Me, Please), and "sleazy-listening glam" (The Guardian).
Taking its title from one of Jackie’s many, many nicknames, ‘Zagg’ was co-produced by Jonathan Rado (Foxygen) & Matthew E. White and features the Spacebomb House Band, with horns & strings arranged by Trey Pollard, whilst artwork for the album (pictured above) comes courtesy of The Moldy Peaches’ Adam Green.
Speaking about this full-length debut, Jackie herself shares: “‘Zagg’ is me, my name, and this record is my first real, intentional, nearly unabashed step toward being myself confidently out in the world. Here I am! Here are my songs. Making this record was truly a “life zagg” for me. I quit my marketing job. I quit my teaching job. I quit my sausage sampling at the mall job. I started taking my meds as directed. I’m reflecting instead of spiraling. Got my egg cracked a few times but I’m landing sunny side up.”
